P003 → displacements
Displacements is a metaphysical photo series dealing with overloads and voids in environmental spaces as consequences of consumism and globalization. The double exposures are obtained by using a prism glass which is not only used to enclose the essential elements of the surrounding environment in a single shot, but also it wants to express the overwhealming feeling of an everchanging reality that is made of fragmentations, uncertainties and redevelopments.
By identifying rhythms, shapes and contrasts of a specific area, the result through the glass is a composition that expresses and maintains the dominant multifaceted effect of the urban environment, itself characterized by its contradictions and multiple surfaces. The represented environments are mostly non-places around Italy, but not traceble to a single place, since contemporary society is liquefying and blending worldwide.
